When eleven-year-old Edie Winter finds a mysterious box on the London Underground she’s amazed to discover that it’s home to a family of Flits – tiny winged people. But Impy, Speckle and Nid need Edie’s help. Not only do they need supplies (rice crispies, sugar sprinkles, digestive biscuits and raisins) and someone to look after them, but their brother Jot has run away and they need Edie’s help to find him. Set against the backdrop of London and its Underground network, it is a story about friendship, family and noticing the little things in life.
Firstly, I absolutely adored the book because I enjoy reading about little people myself and would LOVE to have a pet Flit. The idea and name of the Flits is such a great idea I could burst! I actually have two favourite characters. Speckle & Jot because they are twins just like me and Kate & I also like them because Speckle is like Kate because she likes to stay inside. But I am like Jot because I like adventure. Flits 4eva! I give this novel a ten out of ten star rating. Thank you for letting me read this book. Lizzie, Mostly Books Youth Ambassador
